Cliff Note on ME.
Thank you for your interest in my photography. I'm so happy to tell you a little about me.
Back in the Day:
I grew up on Signal Mountain, Tennessee, which was an ideal place to be a carefree kid. There was a lot of tree climbing, exploring the mountain trails, and just playing outside.
My dad was the one who put the first camera into my hands when I was fifteen years old. This camera was special because it was his camera when he was in college and my parents encouraged my creativity. I have been curious for most of my life. Exploring the world through the lens, was my playground.
The first time I developed photographs in a darkroom, I was hooked. There was something so fascinating about watching images emerge in the developer. Oh yeah, in a darkroom, the old fashioned way, with chemicals, not photoshop. O.K. I'm telling my age now!
College Years:
Initially, I attended Parson School of Art, in NYC, but had second thoughts about living in such a big city. I’m southern girl and new that I needed to make my shift back closer to home.
After I visited a childhood friend in Savannah, GA,
- I just knew!
I fell in love with the old southern charm of the historic Savannah architecture and the sway of the Spanish moss.
SCAD
I studied visual arts and Art History at Savannah College of Art and Design for four fun years and received my BFA with a major in Photography.
